United Nations Millennium Development Goals

I will start my first post with a list of 8 bullet points related to my work. These 8 bullet points are the eight international development goals established by the United Nations in 2000. These 8 goals are very important because the 193 United Nations member states have agreed to achieve them by  2015.

Goal 1. Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
Goal 2. Achieve universal primary education
Goal 3. Promote gender equality and empower women
Goal 4. Reduce child mortality
Goal 5. Improve maternal health
Goal 6. Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases
Goal 7. Ensure environmental sustainability
Goal 8. Develop a global partnership for development

In my work in the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), I am focused in the 7th goal, specially in the Latin America and Caribbean regions.

Introduction

Dear all,

My name is Robert Brunet, I am PhD in Chemical Engineering and I am currently living in Washington DC working as Environmental Consultant in the World Bank. One of my passions is general knowledge and one thing that I love is to know the top, the best or the most of everything. I am always asking which are the most of any topic that I am discussing at that moment e.g. Universities, soccer, places to life, companies, etc.

I love to know which are the 10 most influential people of the world? which are the 10 most beautiful beaches? which are the 10 best movies? which are the 10 top universities? etc. What I am doing to answer this is to google the question but most of the times I don't obtain the answer that I am looking for immediately and I have to look to different sources to make the list. Hence, what I will do in this blog is to present the solution of this question based on a previous research to different sources.

I will updated once a week and it will easy and interesting to read.
Best regards,
Robert Brunet
